The Bell Island Boom of 1978

At exactly 11:05 AM on April 2, 1978, every window on Bell Island, Newfoundland, blew inward—the blast shook houses for miles, but there was no fire, no crater, and not a single burn mark in sight. Bells rang, cattle fell, power lines melted in a spiderweb pattern, and people found their clocks all stopped at that same minute. The Canadian military showed up, joined by American investigators, but no bombs or meteors were ever found. The only trace left at the epicenter was a strange metallic residue streaked across shattered rock.
