What a Reddit Stories Video Actually Is
A Reddit story video is the format that made faceless short-form work: a real post from a subreddit, read aloud, with the post card on screen and satisfying gameplay looping underneath so the viewer has somewhere to put their eyes while they listen. The gameplay is not decoration — it is what buys you the first two seconds, before the story has had a chance to land.
AutoFeed builds the whole thing from a subreddit name. It fetches a post and, optionally, its top comments; caps the title at 150 characters, cut at a word boundary so the card never ends mid-word; trims the body and comments to 1,500 characters, cut at the last sentence end so the narration never stops halfway through a word; and hands the text to ElevenLabs. The voiceover comes back with a start and end time for every single character, which is why the captions land on the exact syllable instead of drifting away from the audio halfway through.

Choose the subreddit
Start from one of eight presets — r/AskReddit, r/AITAH, r/AmItheAsshole, r/relationships, r/TrueOffMyChest, r/confession, r/creepypasta and r/nosleep — or type any subreddit you want. The r/creepypasta preset is pre-filtered to the Text Story, Very Short Story and Trollpasta Story flairs so you only get posts that read well out loud, and r/AskReddit pulls the top three comments as well, because on that subreddit the answers are the content.

Pull the thread
Hit Generate Story and AutoFeed fetches a post from that subreddit. The title is capped at 150 characters and the body plus any comments at 1,500, both cut on a boundary rather than mid-word. Comments are stitched in with spoken connectors — "Top comment.", "Someone replied." — because a narrator reading "1." and "2." out loud breaks the flow. Both fields are ordinary text boxes, so you can rewrite, trim or replace them entirely before anything renders.

Set the post card
The Reddit card at the top of the video carries an author handle. It defaults to u/AutoFeed.ai — change it to whatever handle suits the channel you are publishing to.

Five categories ship with the format: Minecraft (7 clips), GTA V (6), Subway Surfers (1), Fortnite (3) and Satisfying (4). You choose the category and AutoFeed picks a clip from it at random on every render, so a daily series is not running the same footage back to back.

Any voice from the ElevenLabs library, filterable by gender and by use case. Background music is optional and defaults to none for this format — a track fighting a narration is the fastest way to lose retention — but the picker holds the same 87-track library every other format uses. Does AutoFeed post to Reddit or use my Reddit account?
No. It reads public posts from the subreddit you choose in order to build the video, and it never signs in to Reddit on your behalf. Publishing happens on your connected TikTok and YouTube Shorts accounts only.
Can I write my own story instead of pulling one from Reddit?
Yes. The title and body are ordinary text boxes — clear them, paste your own story, and the format renders exactly the same way: post card, narration, timed captions and gameplay. Plenty of channels use it purely as a narrated-story renderer and never touch the subreddit picker.
How long does a Reddit story video end up being?
It follows the narration. The body is trimmed to 1,500 characters before it is read, which keeps almost every story inside short-form length, and the render adds a two-second tail after the final word so the video does not cut off mid-breath.
Why do the captions line up so precisely with the voice?
