Script

On 15 December 2009, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner rolled off the line in Everett, Washington, with its carbon-fibre fuselage gleaming under factory lights, but nobody at that hangar had sat in an Airbus A350 seat yet. Boeing's Dreamliner was the first major airliner with a mostly composite body, making it lighter and more fuel-efficient. With a range over 13,600 km and huge windows, it promised long trips with less jetlag thanks to higher cabin pressure and more humidity. Meanwhile, the Airbus A350 entered service in 2015 with its own composite frame, but even wider cabins and ultra-quiet Rolls-Royce engines. Where the 787's cockpit is all about digital displays, the A350’s oversized touchscreen panels set it apart. Both typically seat around 300 passengers, but the A350 often flies farther-think London to Perth nonstop, a stretch the 787 can't quite match. To remember which is which: Dreamliner debuted first, but the A350 goes even further. Not all ultra-long flights have ever used a Dreamliner, but every direct London-Perth marathon relies on an A350.
