Willow and the Case of the Vanishing Rainbow

Thursday morning, Willow the squirrel found Whimsy Woods upside down-every color had vanished except for the shiny green pebble in her paw. When Tilly the bunny saw Willow’s green pebble glowing, she gasped, her own bright blue ribbon faded into gray. Hugo the bluebird fluttered down, insisting he’d seen a stripe of yellow racing behind the old oak tree just seconds ago. Willow, Tilly, and Hugo dashed after the flash of yellow, but all they found were giggling mushrooms and a trail of confetti-shaped leaves. Each leaf shimmered with a single hue-red, orange, or purple-and led deeper into the whispering ferns, where light twinkled like hidden stars. Suddenly, a tiny fox in a striped hat peeked out, asking if they were searching for something especially colorful. The fox pointed them to a gentle pond-its water sparkled, but no rainbow arched above like it used to every Thursday. As Willow dipped her pebble into the pond, swirling rings of color rippled out, waking a sleepy turtle with a glowing red shell. The turtle yawned and explained that the Rainbow Fairy had lost her paintbrush while painting the morning sky. Tilly’s whiskers trembled; perhaps all the missing pieces were hidden in plain sight! They hurried through flower fields, finding the Fairy's paintbrush tangled in a patch of golden sunflowers. Hugo carefully handed over the brush, but the Rainbow Fairy’s wings drooped-without every lost color, the rainbow wouldn’t return. Willow looked at the glowing green pebble and the shimmering leaves, realizing every friend had been keeping a piece of color safe without knowing. One by one, they dropped their treasures on the pond’s edge, each sparkling brighter than before. The Rainbow Fairy flicked her brush through the air-the sky blossomed with every color at once, brighter than Willow had ever seen. Whimsy Woods cheered, and all the friends beamed, knowing their kindness had brought the rainbow home at last.
