The 2016 Harrowgate Funeral Child Whisper

At Harrowgate Memorial in 2016, a five-year-old girl in a black dress pointed straight at me during the service and whispered to her mother, eyes wide, "That's the one who keeps coming to my room at night." Everyone in the chapel turned in unison to stare. I hadn't met her before and had no idea how she knew my name. The child's mother clutched her tighter as the girl repeated, even louder, "He stood at the foot of my bed, smiling, the night Granddad died." The service paused as people demanded to know what she meant. When her mother pressed for details, the child began to sob and said, "He told Granddad to come with him-before you got here this morning."
