# Reddit Story Video Generator

> Pick a subreddit. AutoFeed writes an original story in that subreddit’s style, narrates it with an ElevenLabs voice, times every caption to the audio and lays it over looping gameplay, then posts it on the schedule you set.

## What a Reddit Stories video is

A Reddit story video is the format that made faceless short-form work: a post card on screen, the story read aloud, and satisfying gameplay looping underneath so the viewer has somewhere to put their eyes while they listen. The gameplay is not decoration: it is what buys you the first two seconds, before the story has had a chance to land.

AutoFeed writes every story fresh. You name the subreddit, and the writer produces an original post (and, if you ask for them, replies) shaped like a post from that community, steering away from titles the series has already used. No third-party post appears in the video, so there is no thread to credit and no author to ask. The title is capped at 150 characters and the narration at 1,500, both cut on a boundary rather than mid-word, and the voiceover comes back from ElevenLabs with a start and end time for every character, which is why the captions land on the exact syllable.

## How the Reddit Stories generator works

1. **Choose the subreddit**: Start from one of 8 presets (r/AskReddit, r/AITAH, r/AmItheAsshole, r/relationships, r/TrueOffMyChest, r/confession, r/creepypasta, r/nosleep) or type any subreddit name. The name sets the voice of the story: an r/AITAH post reads like a judgement request, an r/nosleep post like a first-person horror account. The r/AskReddit preset asks for three replies as well, because on that subreddit the answers are the content.
2. **Generate the story**: Hit Generate Story and AutoFeed writes a title, a body and any replies you asked for. Replies are stitched in with spoken connectors ("Top comment.", "Someone replied.") because a narrator reading "1." and "2." out loud breaks the flow. Both fields are ordinary text boxes, so you can rewrite them, trim them or paste in a story of your own before anything renders.
3. **Set the post card**: The card at the top of the video carries an author handle. It defaults to u/AutoFeed.ai: change it to whatever handle suits the channel you are publishing to.
4. **Pick the gameplay background**: 5 categories ship with the format: Minecraft (7 clips), GTA V (6 clips), Subway Surfers (1 clip), Fortnite (3 clips), Satisfying (4 clips). You choose the category and AutoFeed picks a clip from it at random on every render, so a daily series is not running the same footage back to back.
5. **Choose voice, music and captions**: Any voice from the ElevenLabs library, filterable by gender and by use case. Background music is optional and defaults to none for this format (a track fighting a narration is the fastest way to lose retention) but the picker holds the same 87-track library every other format uses. 12 caption styles are available, from YouTuber and TikToker through Creepy and Glitch for horror subreddits, plus a Custom tile that opens a caption builder.
6. **Render, then let it run**: The video renders and lands in your library. Download it, or attach the format to a recurring series and let AutoFeed write a new story, render it and publish it to TikTok and YouTube Shorts on the days and hours you choose.

## 25 Reddit Thread Archetypes That Reliably Perform

Reddit story videos live or die on the first line of the post. These are the archetypes that keep working, grouped by the subreddit whose style they belong to: point the generator at that subreddit and it writes an original story in the same shape, or paste the title in and write the body yourself.

*Where to paste:* On the Content tab, press Edit on the post and paste any of these into Post title, then write or paste the story into Post text underneath. AutoFeed narrates whatever text is in that box.

### r/AskReddit: question threads

The AskReddit preset writes 3 replies as well, because on this subreddit the answers are the content.

- What's a secret you'll take to the grave?: The evergreen. Works because every single comment is a self-contained story.
- What's the fastest you've ever seen someone get fired?: Short answers, clear endings: ideal when you want three comments inside 45 seconds.
- Hotel workers of Reddit, what's the strangest thing you've found in a room?: Occupation threads give you a built-in narrator persona for the voiceover.
- What did you think was normal until you left home?: High reply-rate in the comments of your own video, which is what the algorithm reads.
- What's a red flag people ignore way too often?: Advice-shaped, so it gets saved and sent rather than just watched.
- Nurses of Reddit, what's the weirdest thing a patient has said under anaesthesia?: Funny beats dark here: pair it with a bright caption style, not Creepy.

### r/AITAH and r/AmItheAsshole: verdict bait

The whole format is an argument the viewer has to finish in the comments. Keep the story under 1,500 characters and stop before the verdict.

- AITA for refusing to give up the seat I paid extra for?: Money-versus-manners setups split an audience almost exactly down the middle.
- AITA for telling my sister the truth about her wedding dress?: Weddings are the highest-engagement subgenre on the whole subreddit.
- AITA for not splitting the bill evenly when I only had a salad?: Small-stakes, universal. Everyone has had this exact argument.
- AITA for reading my partner's group chat after they left it open?: Privacy dilemmas keep working because there is no clean answer.
- AITA for uninviting my brother from the trip he never paid for?: Family plus money: the two things people cannot scroll past.
- AITA for refusing to babysit for free every single weekend?: Reliably brings out two loud camps, which is the point.

### r/TrueOffMyChest and r/confession: first-person confessions

No verdict to argue about, so these need a stronger opening line. Use a slower voice and let the pauses do the work.

- I've been pretending to go to work for four months.: A premise that raises three questions in seven words.
- I found out my best friend was the one who reported me.: Betrayal confessions retain better than shocking ones.
- I never told my family I paid off their debt.: The rare wholesome confession: good for breaking up a dark feed.
- I've kept a separate bank account since the day we married.: Money secrets get more comments than affairs do.
- I let my parents believe I graduated.: Shame-based confessions land hardest with a plain, unstyled caption set.

### r/relationships: slow-burn drama

Longer stories. Cut them to a single scene before you render, or the video runs past the point where anyone is still watching.

- My partner's ex is still in the family group chat and nobody sees a problem.: In-law conflict is the most durable subgenre here.
- He proposed the same week my sister announced her engagement.: Sibling rivalry plus a wedding: two engines in one story.
- We agreed on no gifts and she bought me a car.: Inverted stakes: the "problem" is generosity, which people argue about harder.

### r/nosleep and r/creepypasta: horror

Pair these with the Creepy or Glitch caption style and the Scary music bed. The r/creepypasta preset is already filtered to the Text Story, Very Short Story and Trollpasta Story flairs so you only get readable posts.

- There's a door in my basement that wasn't there last week.: Domestic horror outperforms monsters because the setting is free.
- The night shift has one rule and I broke it.: The "rules" structure gives the narration a built-in countdown.
- My daughter's imaginary friend knows things about our old house.: Children and houses: the two cheapest ways to make a listener uncomfortable.
- I work as a lookout on a fire tower. Do not answer the radio at 3 AM.: Isolation jobs are the most-repeated nosleep frame for a reason.
- Every photo in my grandmother's album has one extra person in it.: Visual premise: it gives the gameplay background something to contrast against.

## Frequently asked questions

### Are these real Reddit posts?

No. Every story and every reply is written fresh for the video, in the style of the subreddit you name, so there is no third-party post in it and no thread to pick. You choose the subreddit, how many replies to read and the author handle on the card.

### Does AutoFeed post to Reddit or use my Reddit account?

No. It never signs in to Reddit and never posts there. Publishing happens on your connected TikTok and YouTube Shorts accounts only.

### Can I write my own story?

Yes. The title and body are ordinary text boxes: clear them, paste your own story, and the format renders exactly the same way, with the post card, narration, timed captions and gameplay.

### How long does a Reddit story video end up being?

It follows the narration. The story is held to 1,500 characters before it is read, which keeps almost every video inside short-form length, and the render adds a two-second tail after the final word so the video does not cut off mid-breath.

### Why do the captions line up so precisely with the voice?

Because they are not estimated. The voiceover is requested with timestamps, so ElevenLabs returns a start and end time for every character in the script, and the renderer uses those numbers directly instead of guessing from word counts.

### Which gameplay backgrounds are included?

Minecraft, GTA V, Subway Surfers, Fortnite, Satisfying: 21 clips in total. You pick the category; a clip from it is selected at random on each render, so a daily series does not open with the same footage every time.

### Can this run without me every week?

Yes. Attach the format to a series, pick the days and the whole-hour slots you want, and AutoFeed generates a fresh video and publishes it to your connected TikTok and YouTube Shorts accounts in your own timezone. Plans cap a series at 3, 7 or 14 posts per week.
